26 and 2 (BIKRAM METHOD) YOGA

The 26 and 2 yoga series is a system of hot yoga, a type of yoga as therapeutic exercise, devised by Bikram Choudhury and based on the teachings of B. C. Ghosh, which became popular in the early 1970s. Classes consist of a fixed sequence of 26 postures, practiced in a room heated to 105 °F (41 °C) with 40% humidity, intended to replicate the climate of India. 
The repetition of the poses provides a framework for meditation, therapy, and improvement of the body and mind.
Bluebird Yoga provides intelligent, alignment-based 26 and 2 and Vinyasa yoga teacher trainings. We are endorsed by and work closely with, The Original Hot Yoga Association to ensure that our training offerings are in alignment with the original intent of the 26 and 2 series. Additionally, we are a registered yoga school (200 and 500 hour) through Yoga Alliance and adhere to all standards set forth by Yoga Alliance. 

 

VINYASA YOGA

Vinyasa is a creative style of yoga that links movement and breath to attain balance in the mind and body. From the Sanskrit “to place in a special way,” vinyasa aligns a deliberate sequence of poses with the breath to achieve a continuous flow. Inhalation is usually connected to upward, open movements, while exhalation is often tied to downward movements or twists. The teacher sequences the class around a particular theme, idea, or peak pose. Vinyasa classes may be slower-paced with highly intentional movement or more athletic in nature while still maintaining proper alignment.
